Background and Context

The Medicine, Surgery, and Missions in Cameroon (MSMC) Conference is a national forum to promote healthcare and missions in Cameroon. This inaugural gathering will bring together students, health workers, researchers, policy makers, missionaries, and other experts who are interested in or involved with advancing medical practice, surgical care, global health, humanitarian health and the gospel of Jesus Christ in Cameroon.

This conference comes at a pivotal moment. Across the country, diverse actors are working to expand access to high‑quality healthcare, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations. Medical and surgical missions play a key role in ensuring access to healthcare for the most vulnerable. By combining healthcare and the gospel, these missions have historically been drivers of change in healthcare within communities across the world and also in Cameroon.

The theme for MSMC 2026, “Advancing Excellence in Healthcare and Missions in Cameroon,” reflects our commitment to learning from the experience, expertise, and vision of those engaged in healthcare and mission work in Cameroon. Through shared knowledge and collaborative dialogue, we aim to explore strategies for improving access to care, strengthening clinical excellence, and enhancing the impact of medical missions nationwide.

MSMC Conference 2026 welcomes participation from all who share interest in advancing excellence in healthcare and missions in Cameroon.
